Employment and skills support

Coordination of employment and skills support

Actively bringing together organisations to promote partnership working and coordinating employment and skills provision delivers benefits of engagement for Northumberland residents, organisations and employers.

The Employment Partnership Coordinator role is designed to support those partnership organisations and maximise opportunities for residents to access the right support to move into or towards good work.

Northumberland Employability Network

Open to all organisations delivering employability and skills support services based or working in Northumberland, the network was established to:

  • share intelligence about delivery of these services across sectors
  • communicate labour market information
  • identify opportunities to develop a collaborative approach
  • improve coordination and alignment to increase the number of residents supported to raise their skill levels and move into good work.

The NCC Employment Partnership Coordinator and Northumberland CVA Memberships and Networks Officer convene and co-chair the network.

It meets every second month to highlight issues in the labour market, share good practice, and raise issues, concerns and priorities relating to employability and skills. With networking opportunities and guest speakers key features of the meetings, the network also provides access to communication platforms for best-practice presentations and information sharing.
