Supporting employers to retain and progress their workforce
Recently launched and covering the Local Authority areas of Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland, the pilot In-Work Support (IWS) programme is a combination of a research project and some practical support for organisations having issues with staff leavers or development.
Eligible businesses registering with the IWS Programme can benefit from the following:
- An opportunity to contribute to a study that will explore and identify the business needs of employers to recruit, retain and progress their staff. The results will influence the future development of publicly funded business support programmes
- Diagnostic support to clearly identify areas where support can help to improve staff retention and progression
- Access to fully funded one-to-one specialist consultancy support to develop and implement solutions to address staff retention and progression issues
- Access to fully funded specialist workshops on topics related to the improvement of staff retention and progression
Issues causing staff retention and progression problems can be numerous and they will vary depending on the sector in which a business operates and the organisation itself. Some of the areas where support may be provided by the IWS programme are:
- Communication
- Dispute Resolution
- Training Recruitment and Skills
- Business Resilience
- Change Management
- Leadership & Management
- Reward & Recognition
- Neurodiversity
- HR Processes
- Career Planning
- Digital Skills
- Mental Health
